Mission Statement: Kappa Kappa Gamma is an organization of women, which seeks for every member throughout her life bonds of friendship, mutual support, opportunities for self-growth, respect for intellectual development, and an understanding of and an allegiance to positive ethical principles.
Founded in 1870, Kappa is one of the oldest women’s fraternities with 131 collegiate chapters in the United States and Canada and 330 alumnae associations worldwide with a total membership of over 200,000 women. The Beta Theta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma was founded at the University of Oklahoma in 1914. Today Beta Theta is the largest women's fraternity at the University of Oklahoma.
Capturing the essence of Kappa Kappa Gamma is a daunting task – perhaps even impossible. In calculating the achievements of the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a vision begins to unfold. Although each member is very unique, many commonalities exist.
The women of Kappa at the University of Oklahoma are recognized for their high standards, countless achievements, great leadership, and involvement on campus and in the Norman community. Members of Kappa Kappa Gamma actively participate in Campus Activities Council, Panhellenic Association, the JC Penney Leadership Program in the Price College of Business, Crimson Club, OU Pom, ROTC, and many more clubs on campus!
The members of Kappa Kappa Gamma also have a strong commitment to the Greek community. Kappa hosts events in support of its philanthropies and also participates in many philanthropy events to benefit the wonderful charities of other OU sororities and fraternities.
In addition to their involvement on campus, they strive to reach the goals of the national Fraternity. They consistently meet the goals set by the chapter and set by our national organization.
